Cavaliers Bonfire, Great Torrington

Helen Bailes, one of our artist members, made special work which was fired in the centre of the Castle Bonfire seen in full glory on The Old Bowling Green on Torrington Commons. She has done this for previous Torrington Bonfires built by The Cavaliers,
In one night the flames and tremendous heat reduced all the hard work of the last two years to ashes, but like the phoenix out of the flames, clay was turned into pottery by the fire, creating pots to be treasured forever.
